Google and SunPower to Finance $250 Million in Residential Solar Lease Projects
April 23, 2014 - Google Inc. and SunPower Corp. today announced a new program that will provide financing to support approximately $250 million of residential solar lease projects. Both companies are investing in the program, with Google committing up to $100 million and SunPower committing approximately $150 million. Thousands of homeowners are expected to finance solar power systems through SunPower solar leases as a result of this program, joining approximately 20,000 Americans already leasing from SunPower. -

Kyocera Invests in Solar Projects Valued at $38M with U.S. Light Energy
April 21, 2014 - Kyocera today announced plans to invest in a tax equity partnership for the development of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects valued at $38 million in New York state, leveraging the 30% federal energy investment tax credit. As part of the investment, Kyocera has also entered into an agreement with U.S. Light Energy (USLE) to utilize high-quality, dependable Kyocera solar modules on all installations. USLE (formerly New York Light Energy) is in the final stages of installing 9.4 megawatts of PV systems, with the expectation that the installations will be completed by June 2014. -

Yingli Green Energy Cooperates with a Local Module Manufacturer in France
April 21, 2014 - Yingli Green Energy, known as "Yingli Solar," today announced that the Company's subsidiaries in China and France agreed to cooperate with a leading French PV module manufacturer ("French Partner") to join forces to satisfy the requirements of the French national tender program ("French National Tender Program") under which the French Partner won large-volume tenders, according to the French Partner. The two leaders' co-branded products will be manufactured in France and powered by Yingli Solar's solar cells. -

SunEdison Closes on 20MW Adobe Solar Plant
April 21, 2014 - SunEdison has interconnected a 20-megawatt AC (alternating current) solar plant in Kern County, California. The project, known as the Adobe Solar Facility, is owned by Southern Company subsidiary Southern Power and Turner Renewable Energy and is composed of 80,000 SunEdison Silvantis™ Solar PV (photovoltaic) modules. -

Canadian Solar and NCC Complete Diesel Hybrid PV Installation
April 16, 2014 - Canadian Solar today announced the completion of the first diesel hybrid PV system in the remote microgrids in northern Ontario, Canada. The 152kW rooftop solar array on the Deer Lake First Nation Elementary School, completed by Canadian Solar with its supplier partners, is the first project under the strategic partnership with NCC Development, LP ("NCC"), in a commitment to use renewable energy (RE) microgrid solutions to assist the energy needs of off-grid First Nations and remote communities. -

BayWa r.e. Commissions 18MW Solar Farm in UK
April 15, 2014 - BayWa r.e. project team were able to construct and commission an 18MWp solar plant in nine weeks.
