    Solar Frontier Supplies 21.3MW Project in Ube, Japan

    Solar Frontier announced today that it supplied 21.3MW of its CIS thin-film modules for megasolar (utility-scale) solar energy power plants in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The power plant, which came on stream in July 2014, is owned and managed by US Power Co., Ltd.

    SPI Solar Announces Developments in the Solar PV Market in Hawaii

    SPI Solar today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets relating to current SPI solar PV projects in Hawaii. Under the terms of the agreement, SPI will acquire Hawaiian Power, LLC's equity interests and debt related to an SPI and HPL joint venture to develop and operate solar PV projects in Hawaii. As a result of the transaction, SPI will own a 100% interest in an entity that currently has approximately 15MW under development in Hawaii. The aggregate purchase price for the assets is $3.95 million consisting of 3,000,000 SPI Solar shares of common stock valued at $1.15 per share, subject to adjustment, and $0.5 million in cash, with closing expected in September 2014.

    Hanwha Q Cells and AGR to Build 24.3MW PV Power Plant in the UK

    Hanwha Q CELLS has teamed up with AGRenewables (AGR), to power up a 24.3MW photovoltaic power plant for Ingenious Clean Energy in record-time. More than 94,500 Q.PRO-G3 solar panels were installed in only three weeks. The ground-mounted plant will generate around 22,445MWh of clean energy per year; enough to power 24,800 local households and save approximately 9,650 tons of carbon emissions each year.

    EDF Renewable Energy to Sell 57MW Solar Project to Dominion

    EDF Renewable Energy today announced that Dominion will acquire two solar projects for a total of 57MW: Cottonwood Solar (32.6MW) and Catalina Solar 2 (24.3MW). The sale agreement is subject to customary conditions precedent; it will close upon completion of installation, after which EDF RE will manage the commissioning and place the projects in service.
