Acciona and Tuto Energy Expand Mexican Solar Project Capacity to 339MW
The Puerto Libertad photovoltaic plant in the State of Sonora (México) will see its capacity increased by 50% to 339MW (270MW rated capacity) following the signature of a private purchase agreement between the joint venture that owns the project (participated at 50% by Acciona Energia and Tuto Energy) and the company Tuto Energy Trading. The final destination of the energy, representing 112MW (90MW rated capacity), will be the facilities of a major Mexican industrial group. -

Mainstream Obtains Planning Consent for 245MW of Solar PV in Chile
Chile's Environmental Assessment Service has approved Mainstream Renewable Power's 245MW Escondido Solar PV facility. It will involve an investment of $290 million to construct and is split into two solar parks located in the communes of Copiapó and Tierra Amarilla: Parque Solar Río Escondido and Parque Solar Valle Escondido. -

First Solar Awarded 140MW Module Supply Contract for Australia Solar Project
First Solar, Inc. today announced it has been awarded the module supply contract for the 140MW DC Sun Metals Solar Farm in North Queensland (QLD), Australia. It utilizes more than 1,167,000 First Solar thin-film photovoltaic modules to produce approximately 270,000MWh of energy in its first year of operation. Situated 15km south of Townsville, the project will supply electricity to the Sun Metals zinc refinery. -

Located across the Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani Provinces, the Prime Road Group Co-Op Project utilizes more than 158,500 First Solar thin-film PV modules to produce approximately 29,600MWh of clean electricity in the first year of operation. -
