Phoenix Solar to Build 4.2MW Solar Park in Saxony-Anhalt
Phoenix Solar AG has been commissioned to build a solar plant with a peak power of 4.2 megawatts in the district of Jerichower Land, Saxony-Anhalt. A number of compensatory measures for the environment and nature conservation will be implemented on the former military base through the construction project. -

aleo solar AG Introduces New Solar Modules
At the beginning of 2013, aleo solar AG will be introducing modules which make even more efficient use of the sunlight thanks to anti-reflection glass, highly transparent embedding film and special cell connectors. This means that the monocrystalline S_19 and S_79 and the polycrystalline S_18 and S_24 aleo modules have higher power classes. The modules are also available with Solrif frames for roof integration in certain countries. -

Suntech and SunSystem Announce 25MW Sales Agreement in Romania
Dec. 13, 2012 - Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. and SunSystem S.p.A. have signed a contract for Suntech to supply 25 megawatts (MW) of polycrystalline solar panels. The Suntech solar panels will power two new photovoltaic projects under construction in Romania that will be grid connected by the end of 2013. -

Panasonic Launches HIT Solar Module Production in Malaysia
Dec 13, 2012 - Panasonic Corporation today started production at its newly-built solar module manufacturing facility in Malaysia. With an annual production capacity of 300MW, the factory in Kulim Hi-Tech Park in the northwestern state of Kedah, will manufacture HIT® solar modules. This new production facility will help Panasonic meet robust solar demand in Japan while further enhancing cost competitiveness. -

Solar Frontier to Supply Modules for First Megawatt-Scale Solar Power Plant in Nagasaki
Chopro Co., Ltd. and Solar Frontier announced today the completion of "SOL de Hirado Shimonakano", a utility-scale solar power plant in Hirado city, Nagasaki, Japan. Chopro will be the operator of the plant, which was built using solar modules provided by Solar Frontier. The completion ceremony held at the new plant today was attended by Hirado City Mayor Naruhiko Kuroda, Chopro President Kenji Araki, and Solar Frontier Executive Officer and Head of Domestic Agent Business Sales Organization Yukihiro Oyama. The "SOL de Hirado Shimonakano" solar power plant will begin selling electric power to Kyushu Electric in December and is the first megawatt-scale solar power plant to start selling power in Nagasaki Prefecture.
