Solarpack has been selected, via its subsidiary Ekialde Solar Pvt Ltd, to develop five solar photovoltaic plants with a total power of 133MWp in the Indian state of Karnataka.

The five new solar parks in India, located in the towns of Afzalpur, Chincholi, Holenarsipura, Nanjangund and Yelandur, will enter operation in September 2019. They are expected to generate around 215 GWh a year, avoiding 175,000 tons of atmospheric CO2 emissions. The project has a 25-year power-purchase agreement.

Pablo Burgos, Solarpack's CEO, commented: "This second contract consolidates our position in India, a market which we see as key in the coming years. Solarpack has made an important commitment to internationalization and this process has seen us becoming a key player in the sector."
