Recently, DMEGC Solar obtained the environmental product declaration (EPD) certificate from EPD Italy for its PV modules. This marks the high recognition of its product quality and environmental performance by international authoritative organizations.
The EPD certificate is a comprehensive and internationally recognized certification that records the environmental impact of solar modules throughout their lifecycle, from raw material extraction, production to transportation, installation, use, maintenance, and management after life expectancy. It can help consumers choose the most environmentally beneficial products and has become an essential reference indicator for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and other market access conditions within the European Union.
In the process of obtaining EPD certification, DMEGC Solar worked closely with the environmental assessment agency Kapstan to complete the preparation of LCA and EPD report. The report provides a detailed analysis of the environmental impact of the entire life cycle of DMEGC Solar's photovoltaic modules from raw material procurement, production, transportation, installation to disposal, as well as the product's advantages in energy saving and emission reduction.
ICMQ S.p.a is the third-party service provider for this certification. The PCR (Product Category Rules) applies to photovoltaic modules such as monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon or amorphous silicon modules, providing a standardized framework for conducting LCA (life cycle assessment) and EPD report. A distinguishing feature of this PCR is its suitability for a wide range of module applications, including residential and industrial power generation, which ensures that different types of PV modules can be comprehensively and accurately evaluated.
Obtaining the EPD certification will not only help DMEGC Solar improve its competitiveness in the global market, but will also lay a solid foundation for its expansion in the European market.
