Sonnedix has issued Notice To Proceed (NTP) for Sonnedix Ciechanowiec, a 2MW solar PV plant from its development portfolio in Poland.

This is the first development project to enter construction phase since Sonnedix acquired former solar developer Sun Power Energy (SPE) during the first quarter of this year. With the acquisition, Sonnedix entered the Polish market, with a development pipeline of close to 700MW.

Sonnedix Ciechanowiec, located in Podlaskie, in Poland, will be built by ELPRO Sp z o.o. as EPC contractor, with its completion expected by the beginning of 2023. The plant will be ground-mounted and equipped with monocrystalline, single-facial solar PV panels.

"We're thrilled to start the construction of our first solar PV projects in Poland, just months after setting foot in the country" – said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix. "This is testament to our strong commitment to continue growing our global platform, expanding the use of renewable energy, and pushing the energy transition forward."

Sonnedix currently has over 7GW of capacity, including a development pipeline of more than 5GW. The IPP continues to actively look for opportunities to expand its solar footprint in the market and around OECD countries.
