European Energy won subsidies at the inaugural technology neutral auction in Denmark with two solar projects. The two projects – Rødby Fjord at Lolland and Næssundsvej at Mors, will have a capacity of 60MW and 30MW respectively. Both projects will receive a subsidy of DKK 28.4 per MWh.

"It is very positive that we were able to win a total of 90MW in an auction that was significantly oversubscribed. That shows that we have put together a really good team of people, who can deliver projects quickly and effectively. It is also extremely important to note that solar and wind energy now complement each other in Denmark which has a positive effect on the security of supply and which will give the Danes cheaper electricity", says Knud Erik Andersen, CEO of European Energy. He continues:

"With its low price level, solar and wind have again proven that they are the cheapest and most efficient way to carry out the green transition. We hope that the politicians will raise the level of ambitions considerably for both wind and solar so that we will achieve a true transition and Denmark will become CO2 neutral".
